The level 9 Beacon Tower shows hero level -- how is that useful information?

I would think it useful in determining the aproximate stats of the hero. Most heroes fall inside a certain
range of stats and the level would let you determine the maximum any one stat can be.
Not the most valuable information but useful to some degree.

A city with a level 9 Beacon Tower has in the past shown me the attacking party's originating city name and coordinate.
This did not happen recently and it was just listed as -(-:-).

The Beacon Tower page does not contain any information regarding this and I suggest that someone with editing rights add a section
stating that there are other factors involved when it comes to what information is visible.
The information did show up in the plunder report though.

The beacon tower is also required to scout enemy cities. If you scout a lvl10 NPC with lvl10 informatics, the beacon tower level will limit what you can see as if you had informatics the same level as the beacon tower. I experimentally verified this on server 34. Unfortunately I'm not allowed to edit the page. Booga 14:32, 19 September 2009 (UTC)

wtf seriously??

 "Level 2:

A level 2 Beacon Tower can analyze the purpose of the enemy, whether they come for scout, plunder, or conquer. "

First of all..things will be only said in your enemy tab if you are under ATTACK - it does NOT tell if you if they are "scouting" you.2nd of all... the enemy must take your city loyalty down to 0...it only freakin tells you if they are ATTACKING,there's no such thing or button like "Conquer"

[edit] Lv10 NCP

With informatics lv10 you still can't view the troops of an NCP lv10 but you can with that and beacon tower 9-10
