On the need for level 4 attacks, 120 WARRIORS and 90 ARCHERS:

I find that if you use 120 SWORDSMEN, instead of 120 WARRIORS, the results are more encouraging, and the odds of getting a Rose medal don't change much.

I had to pick up 999 Rose Medals on Server 4 for a promotion today. Using the 'burst' technique mentioned here, sending attack forces of 100 Warriors and 200 Archers to an L3 Grassland, with seven Heroes attacking from 1 City and 6 from another it only took 4 iterations of 7 and 2 iterations of 6 ie 40 attacks in total to obtain the 5 Medals or better than 1 in 8 (12.5%). This would appear to suggest that either the 3% drop rate is not correct on server 4 or I'd better start backing long odds race horses.

My experience suggests the same thing. I have been very successful in getting rose and Lion medals using the burst method. I used 6 attacks per burst, working two cities at the same time. The drop rate seems to be higher when I use this method. I would be interested if someone has provided hard data to back this up. Not just for the Rose medal, but for all of them.--Ingvar 06:20, 7 September 2009 (UTC)

I've not had much luck with the burst method. 125 attacks in, still haven't gotten a medal. I just switched to attacking lvl4 from lvl2. We'll see if that helps.

On the newer servers Rose medals are obtained in the higher lvl valleys. Lvls 7-10 have been producing while the lower lvls give none even using the "burst" technique. Once I confirm this I'll post how it's done.
